"Within the European Union eLearning project, the Foundation of the City of Viladecans, in partnership with the Ligue de l’enseignement (France), AWO (Germany) and AEFOL (Spain) started eMigra, project that will identify, study and disseminate on a large scale basis good practices in the promotion of digital literacy for migrants in Europe.

The eMigra’s partners agreed on the same observation: many e-inclusion initiatives are taken in Europe in order to promote the digital literacy of migrants ( ITC and Internet training, development and experimentation of platforms and contents for migrants, etc..).However, these actions are often isolated and remain unknown, even though they allow a better understanding of the specific educational needs of some collectives, and promote the access to the Information society for all. In consequence, local and national actions that aim to promote digital literacy of these publics are not yet ready to prevent the digital fracture.

For all of these reasons, we will within the eMigra project : create an online database of projects and initiatives that promote migrant’s digital literacy in Europe, publish a study on the good practices identified, organize a European conference that will bring together actors concerned by the eMigra’s problematic in Viladecans (Barcelona), and finally diffuse a good practices’ guide and recommendations to promote migrants’ digital literacy in Europe.
